AIM for Awareness Ad Contest 2019

Lindsey Knight, AIM Community Engagement Manager, and Tyller Williamson, Monterey City Councilmember, with one of our Ad Contest winners, Jeanette Vasquez, an 11th grader from Marina High School.

More 400 ad designs were submitted for this year’s AIM For Awareness Ad Contest — our biggest ever — and with help from the Carmel Sunset Rotary Club we displayed them all on Thursday, Oct. 24th at the Sunset Cultural Center.

A crowd of students, parents, teachers, elected officials, healthcare professionals, and others were there to enjoy and appreciate the work. (Pictured: Last year’s winner Skylar Jackson came to award this year’s winners.)

Thank you to everyone who helped, everyone who came, and to every student who courageously created an Ad and told their story of mental health.

Thank you also to the following sponsors and in-kind donors:

Carmel Sunset Rotary Club, Monterey Cannery Row Rotary Club, Monterey Pacific Rotary Club, Nielsen Brothers Market, Monterey Coast Realty, Media Locate.

Dametra Cafe (Faysal Nimri), Fishwife Pacific Grove (Meral & Jay Alpay), International Market and Deli (Gloria Altimimi), Ashley Bennett-Stoddard, Bennett Sculpture Carmel,

(Dave Clark), House of 8 Media (Mike Buffo), Paulette Lynch and Ken Peterson, Scheid Family Wines, Folktale Winery, Holman Ranch, and Dawn’s Dream Winery.

Funding was also provided by a grant from Rotary International District 5320.
