Treatments focusing on behavioral parent training and talk therapies addressing self-destructive and unhealthy behaviors are the most effective in quickly treating youth with severe irritability associated with emotional and behavior problems, according to first-year research funded by AIM.
The research is being conducted by Dr. Spencer Evans, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. It focuses on 174 children, ages 5-8, with severe irritability and frequent aggressive, disruptive behavior.
Now AIM has made a grant of $65,580 to Dr. Evans for a second year of progress. You can learn more about Dr. Evans and his work here.
