Teen Mental Health First Aid

teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) teaches teens in grades 10-12, or ages 15-18, how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among their friends and peers.

Get Trained

The research states that young people are more likely to seek support from their friends and peers before approaching an adult. AIM’s Teen Mental Health First Aid Program equips teens with the skills to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among their peers.

The training is an evidence-based, peer to peer curriculum that fosters knowledge and connection among the participants. We seek to educate young people how to recognize and help their friends with mental health and substance use challenges and crises and how to get the help of a trusted adult quickly.
