With a background in teaching, Sophia supports AIM as a Curriculum Developer for AIM Ideas Lab. Sophia earned her Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and her Masters in Education, both from Loyola Marymount University (LMU).
Sophia has curriculum development expertise for multiple subjects across various grade levels. During her teaching career, Sophia adapted curricula to meet diverse learning needs while integrating social and emotional learning (SEL) into daily classroom practice. She is a strong advocate for SEL as a foundation for emotional regulation and student confidence. This experience informs her curriculum development work at AIM and drives her commitment to advancing their youth-led mental health research and advocacy.
In her time outside of work, Sophia enjoys reading mystery novels, cooking meals with her partner, watching movies, and going on walks with her family and dog, Hercules.
